Please Help- Stagnant Water Smell in Living Room

I pray someone can give some advice or tell me where to start without this being costly, I just moved in this ranch style home last year, well recently here in Ohio last week we had a down pour of rain, and just a few days after all the rain I started smelling a stagnant water smell, you know that smell like u washed clothes and forgot them in the washer, yea that smell, and it was faint at first, its like it comes and goes, I have vacuumed, moved furniture, looked for leaks in the ceiling and walls and I cant find anything, and its only in my living room, I opened my windows yesterday and the smell went away but when I got up this morning it was back, please help.

Welcome to the forums!

What is under the living rm; basement, crawlspace or is it on a slab?
Assuming you don't have an actual leak, a dehumidifier should help.

I'm pretty sure its just a slab, I guess i'm just worried about it being mold growing, but again I don't see leaks anywhere. thanks for replying.

Check around the outside to make sure the soil isn't built up over the slab and that downspouts are piped away from the house.

I would start tracking the relative humidity along with the smell.
