Water damaged sheathing in attic
I have some water damage in my attic, on the gable end of the house. It has been fixed, proper flashing done on the roof. This area has also been attack with mice and bats over the years, so it is quite the mess. After cleaning it all up, what would be the best approach to fix this? I'm thinking 1/4" hardware cloth between the studs, secured on the sides of the studs and the back side of the chimney. Follow that up with spray foam on top of that? Not sure what direction to go with this.

Not much to go on.
Are we in the attic and looking towards finished rooms in the pictures ?
That's going to require insulation. I wouldn't uses hardware cloth and spray foam.
If you're trying to control the wildlife.... you need to stop it before it gets in.
