Basement Ceiling-faced or unfaced?

I have a ranch style house built in 1958. The basement has steel poles supporting the main structural beams in the basement's ceiling. The poles are welded to the support beams and appear to be laid into the concrete floor. One beam, (Beam A) is 13 ft long and runs from the concrete foundation wall (Wall X) until it ends to allow headroom for the stairwell. Beam A has one support pole (Pole P) that is 10 feet from Wall X. Another beam (Beam B) then starts on the other side of the stairwell and runs across another 6 feet to the opposite concrete foundation wall (Wall Y). Beam B is supported by a support pole (Pole Q) at it's start - 6 feet from Wall Y. I would like to move Pole P over another 3 feet to the end of Beam A, 13 ft from Wall X to make room for some remodelling. Any suggestions, warnings, etc. regarding how to move/replace Pole P? Is it best to put in a new permanent pole at the end of Beam A first, then remove Pole P. Or should I try some temporary support and actually move Pole P? Are there any safe workarounds instead of breaking up the concrete floor and then repouring concrete around a new pole? What about the welding between the new pole and Beam A? Is this a bad idea in general to be moving support poles? Do I need to contact a structural engineer?

Hello, I am a dog groomer and I would like to put a raised tub about waist high in my basement along with outlets and walls. I know from looking through books that I have to build a wall first. Next add a tub but how do I build a platform to put the tub on? Also I have to do the plumbing and add electrical outlets. How do I go about starting something like this? What kind of a pump do i need to take the water out of the tub? Or do you think I should hire someone to do this? THanks Anna
