Attic in need of some love
https://photos.app.goo.gl/3iSFVgrWmeTaBsN1AHello everybody,
My name is Alex and I am going to add more insulation to my attic, the townhouse was build in 1985 the roof was changed in 2015
I am going to seal all the holes I see under the current cellulose insulation.
I saw that the window vent has some old and abandones bee house also the wood around it seem rotten. The wall under has a stain and I’m not sure if I should start worrying about replacing.
the house has plastic siding all around
also I found some air baffles install but there are no soffits in that area. Or it has been blocked with a 2 x 4
yhere are two skylights that have fiberglass insulation that keeps falling over and making the room below heat up pretty bad.
please advise what can i do
and if I need to worry about the wet mark in the wall.
also any good recommendation on how to insulate I’m trying to keep it DIY.

Hi Alex, attic rooms tend to be particularly bad for improper insulation. Usually resulting in a room which is too hot in the summer, and freezing in the winter. I would recommend an aluminium foil insulation,. You'll be able to find it online its usually sold in rolls of around 30+ metres since the target market is usually builders. how big is the space you need to insulate? and what is your budget for the insulation cost?
