The list of things to consider is very long, just completed a review of a home inspection and my list was longer than the inspection, and I haven't been inside yet. A good independent inspection from someone obligated to you and not the real estate company is a must. However, home inspections are filled with statements like, you need to have an electrician look at this or a plumber look at that. The "this and that" all need to be checked out. Also, check the local building department to see what permits were pulled over the history of the house to ensure all work was inspected and approved.
As for those pictures, as requested, more information is needed.

A scrape with a knife will tell easily if it's lead or not. You can also try touching a magnet to it. If it sticks it's steel and if it doesn't than it could be lead or copper but just scraping it with a knife is usually the easiest way to tell.
