Basement slab with sunk in floor

My house was Built-in 1993 The basement living Room area has a sunk in floor. The sunken part is about 7". my question is is there a chance The whole slab was poured at the sunken level and a second slab poured on top of it to raise it up? I would like the extra 7" of head Room in the basement I doubt it is very likely they did it this way but if there is a chance how would I check? The house is 2 by 6 construction and cinder block foundation. Thanks for any help

Nope, not likely at all. But you could pick any spot (that is not near the outside footing perimeter or near any load bearing wall or column) and drill a hole through the slab to see how thick it is. Then plug the hole with epoxy.
