Water behind basment walls

Instead of a full basement waterproofing (drainage around entire basment costing $10,000+) can i just get multiple sump pumps installed? I have 1 aleady but the sump is very small

You can put as many in as you like. But depending on the type of soil, they may not lower your water table fast enough to help the perimeter stay dry.

Your idea is much like adding more bilge pumps to a leaky boat instead of fixing the leaks. Yes, you can add more pumps but you're removing water that's already entered the perimeter of your home. You are a power failure away from a sinking boat... I mean wet basement.

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback. Are you recommending I work from the top down?

For example, make sure my landscape is graded properly?

Also i have highly acidic soil (new jersey)...I am not sure if that is relevant or not.

and my current sump pit is 11 x 11
