Question

I'm planning to finish a bathroom in my basement. I assume the bath has to have a vent fan since there is no window. Does the fan have to be vented to the outside (like a dryer vent)? If so, can I use the flexible foil duct or will I have to use the rigid metal type?

Yes, it needs a vent and exhaust fan.
Yes, it needs to be vented outside.
Yes, you can use flexible foil duct, but I strongly recommend the rigid metal type unless the circumstances of your installation make this infeasible.
