Rim Joist Insulation
Hi All
Any recommendations for a one part, closed cell spray foam. Want to spray 2 inches.
Have 150 linear feet by 25 inches.
Chicago Zone 5.
Thank You

If you have never used those kits they are a PITA. Used once to repair some insulation I had to remove on my spa with a leak. It simply did not spray a nice uniform width/depth and ended up dripping all over the bottom of the spa and falling off the existing foam, not something I will ever use again, at least if you're looking for something relatively clean and neat.

Dont recall the specific kit but it was a 2-part closed cell foam.
That's a lot of foam, might want to consider the foam panels cut to size!

Spray Foam
Hi
I would use foam blocks but the rim joist were sprayed by the builder and not a flat surface to mount panels. I'm afraid that the voids/gaps would promote condensation. The gaps I'm referring to are between the foam and foam board NOT the perimeter
I'm very hesitant to do a half ass job and end up with a problem.
Not looking for a smooth finish since I will be drywalling the ceiling. 2-3 inch layer with no batt insulation.
I'll check out the DAP, hopefully it's a 1 canister set up.
Thanks!

If it's an irregular 2" gap you could try the Great Stuff for large gaps in the big cans and use their dispenser gun. You'd need a pex extension and pipe clamp... and do it in layers.
