Big crack on my basement concrete wall

Hello,
I was installing a sliding door on my basement and when I removed all wood around the door we noticed a big crack on the left side of the door. If I remove the vertical wood , a good portion of the cement will fall. I知 planning to add vertical wood support in both side of the door to remove the wood that is holding up the cement. Then I知 planning to shape that section of the wall to add 2x4x7 in concrete bricks. Any new ideas before I start? See picture for reference. Thanks
jorge

Welcome to the forums.

That parts that are cracking don't match the same material as the wall.
It looks like that was patched when the door was installed.

You're going to need to enlarge that opening anyway to install new block..... correct ?
Install the new framing/blocks and re-patch what's left.
You'll need to do something for a lentil over the door.
