Drop down ladder for attic
#1
My drop down ladder is currently located in my garage where I have an 11' ceiling height. The problem is that I have to use a 2' platform as a base for the ladder which takes up space and is a bear to handle. Should I attempt to extend the ladder length?

Get the name of the manufacturer on the pull down stairs and search for it on the web. They may sell an extension kit for your application. I know they do sell pull down stairs for that ceiling height. I would first try to see if you could get the extension kit.

Hello
You can build a landing down with plywood and add steps as needed to go on up into the attic...I have never seen a kit to add on. You can get a new unit for your ceiling hight it would need a longer hole into the attic and they cost around $200....Good Luck
