Question wiring inspection

im wiring my newly constructed basement myself. I know from a electrician pal who lives now in Canada that im doing it safely. He has seen my job and says it would be ok in his opinion,...but ive heard I still need to get it 'underwritten' for insurance purposes, by an electrical inspector here in Pennsylvanie. Has anyone heard of this, and what sort of things would they look for??

thanks

Cool

For electrical or plumbing work, you usually need a permits and inspections by your local Building Inspection Department.
They will inspect it from a to z to make certain that it meets local code (which varies from place to place).
Good Luck!
