Dust settling in basement

As the cold air settles down through the house, it settles into the basement carrying dust particles with it. In an active household with carpeted floors, a lost of dust can be stirred up. Frequent vacuuming can help keep dust at bay but never completely removes it. There is much concern today about allergies and dust. Dust contains dust mites, mold/mildew spores, allergens, pollen. In basements where the air is more moist, a dusty environment can become an area where mold/mildew problems can occur. Running a dehumidifier can be helpful in preventing mold/mildew problems. Go to www.healthybuilding.com/html/dust.html for info about dust.
