Electrical box Framing????
I am planning to frame around the electrical box. I understand that codes are different per area. However, what is a safe distance to frame to the right, left and in front of the electrical box?

It's okay if the framing members are in direct contact with the left and right sides of the box. However, you must maintain 30" side to side clearance (the box may be anywhere within the 30") and 36" clear in front of the box for access. I know of no local variation on these codes. If you'd like to read the codes themselves, go to your local public library, find the reference copy of the National Electrical Code, and read article 110.26.
