wood basement

okay, I want to build a wood basement but can't seem to find any information on the web......anyone have any suggestions?

Search under "preserved+wood+foundations"
I've had an all wood foundation for ten years. Footing, walls & floor are preserved wood. Nothing but praise for it. Dry, warm, comfortable. Good luck

Basement framing.

I have never done any framing. I am in the process of finishing my basement. It is a walk out basement,7ft ceiling (Unfinished) totally open. How difficult would it be for a rookie(Handy) to frame. Where can I get some How to instructions. I had a contractor finish a Laundry room for me but I'd like to save $$$ if I can.Every response helps. Wood or Metal which is easier? I'm looking at over $7000.00 for Framing,sheetrocking and Taping by a contractor. Is that a through the roof price? the house is a cape not a mansion.

I'm in the process of planning to refinish my basement. Is it really necessary to install a subfloor in the basement, either a plywood or some of the newer types of subflooring? Or would it suffice to just install a good resilient carpet and thick pad. I realize that the concrete absorbs a lot of the heat and can get cold, so I'm inquiring for different opinions...... thanks !
