Basement Framing

I'm framing out a 2,200 sf. basement with steel studs and floating it. Many duct pipes run paralell with the joists along the concrete walls where I need to attach my upper trac. The ducts cant be pushed up between the joists, buth rather are installed about 8" below the joists. How do I run my upper trac with these ducts in the way?

If you are running your upper plate perpendicular to the ducts just butt them up close to either side of the duct.
If you're running parallel directly under the duct then you have to frame a bulkhead around the duct and then fasten your top plate to that.
