Installing Carpet in Basement
#1

We will be putting carpet down in a sectioned part of the basement which will be used for a toy room/guest bedroom. The basement is a dry basement but has the typical cement floors. What kind of carpet would you suggest? Thank you, Lori

I used berber
I have a closed loop berber in my basement. You can use whatever carpet you like. The key is the pad. A dense pad is important. I have an 8-pound commercial grade pad. My floor is warm and comfortable.
Some may tell you that you need a rubber pad or no pad. If you have had problems with water before, then perhaps a rubber (waterproof) pad is a good idea. But in my case (and yours from your post) a dense pad is sufficient.
