Basement Bulkhead

Basement Bulkhead
I recently purchased a older home that a wooden bulkhead. I have a tarp over it because it leaks through the doors and the top edge.. I called in some contractors to look at it, they said they couldn't install a steel bulkhead because one side of the foundation was not built up enough. The bulkhead is built right into the side of the house. He told me that it would be cheaper building a custom made ( wood) bulkhead instead of a steel one>>
Does anyone have any ideas on a cheap way to do this??
Or can I get some instructions on how to build or fix the bulkhead?
Thanks

best bet is to look at other bulkheads
Mrbello,
I remember a topic like this on another popular forum 2 years ago. What you will find is that bulkheads are pretty much a New England term. Though there are similar devices in the mid-west, they aren't called bulkheads.
Because of this, you will find few experts that know what one is, much less any with any knowledge of them. The experts that do know what they are may not be on the forum.
Your best option would be to look at other bulheads in your neighborhood. Ask your neighbors and at work.
If you could atttach a pic, it would help others see what you are asking for.
