Question Aluminum Soffit Question

I recently bought a house and the old owners had Aluminum Soffits installed. What I just discovered was that the soffit underneath the Aluminum isn't opened.

Is it possible to remove the Aluminum panels to access the plywood wood underneath to put holes in the soffit to ventilate the roof and then reinstall the aluminum panels?

Thank You.

Yes you can do what you want to do, but first check in the attic if there is access to the soffits from there. Sometimes they put blocking above the top plate closing off that area to you. Depending on how they did it, it might be too difficult for you to remove. If this is the case, then I suggest you hire a roofer to do it for you. If some of the shingles are nailed into that blocking you might damage the shingles when you take out the blocking.

If there is access to the soffits from the attic, no blocking, then cutting hole in it and covering them with the aluminum is fine.
