Question Carpet over concrete floor

I am preparing to put down my flooring in my almost finished basement. My floor is concrete, is there anything else recommended that I put over the concrete other than or in addition to Dryloc and carpet padding?

Thanks for your responses!!!

There is a company in Genoa, Illinois- Warm Floors- that can heat your basement floor if you would perfer to cover it with ceramic tile.

8 lb pad under berber

I put an 8 pound pad under berber in my basement. The floor is as warm and comfortable as any in the house.

No I didn't put down any sealer - wasn't needed.

The key is the pad. You want a dense pad. I used an 8 pound commercial grade pad.
