Turning basement/crawl space into a wine cellar?

Has anyone done or attempted this? Does anyone know what would be involved.

I'm thinking of putting some racks and an air conditioner down into my 4 foot 6 inch crawl space, but I'm not sure if it would take more than that to preserve the wine. I'd also install one of those indoor outdoor temperature gauges upstairs with the sensor down in the crawlspace, so I could keep a running tab on the current temperature of my wine, etc...

Thanks!

Wine cellar in a crawl space

Before beginning your project, you might want to go to http://www.californiaceo.com/archive...Lifestyle.html and www.brentwoodwine.com/invest/storing1098.html to learn more about wine storage and other options. A search on your favorite search engine should turn up some other interesting info.
