Basement wall thickness

I am building a new home. I am looking at 2x6 exterior construction with brick veneer finish and a full basement.

If a typical wall consists of:

2x6 - 5 1/2"
sheeting - 1/2"
1" space - 1" (recommended by brick manufactures)
Brick width - 4"

That totals 11". Can you have 2x6 construction with a 10" basement wall by hanging the brick off the edge? If forced to 12" basement wall does the extra inch go to the inside?

Any help at all is appreciated.

Thanks,

Check with your local permit board. I do not think they will allow your brick to hang over on a 10" wall. If you have a 12" wall the extra usually goes to the inside.
