I have a great deal of seeping under one wall of my home. It happens at the joint of the floor and the wall. I only get it when it rains for a really long period of time or really hard all at once.

Any reccomendations on how to handle this?

The walls themselves are not damp.

Basement causing kitchen floor to rise?

I have an old house, with a full finished basement. The kitchen floor (above) the basement is very uneven, actually has a large hump in the middle of the floor. The kitchen floor is not cracked that I can tell. I'm certain this hump has been there for years and years. It's a great conversation starter, however it is a real problem. Can a problem with the basement be causing this? Where should I look in the basement to find what is causing this? The ceiling in the basement is finished. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated..... Metal Studs in Floating Basement Wall

I have read on this post that you can frame a floating wall with metal studs, but I am not quite clear. Here's my question, 1. You start with a 2x4 attached to the concrete floor. 2. This is where I am confused. Do you use a metal stud for the botom plate? Not clear on how it would float with a large nail going through a metal bottom plate, seem like a sqeeky situation here? Can someone clarify? Yes, I do live in Colorado. Thanks, Mark
