Basment insulation Can I skip it
almost ready to sheetrock in my 5 yr old block foundation basement.. I thoro-sealed entired inside and the basement was always dry, has a french drain around perimeter leading to whole which has never been damp... House is on a hill, so basement stays very dry, my question is, can I skip the insulation, I will have a natural gas wall heater installed for the winter and it stays very cool in summer... Thanx again for all your help!!

where do you live?
Yes, its an option. But its worth depends on where you live.
Consider this:
For areas with cold winters, its one of the best things you can do to save energy.
I live in the midwest where winters average the mid-20s to the mid-30s during the day. I insulated my basement and saw immediate savings on my heat bill - $40-50/month for Dec thru Feb. Looking at the full year, the insulation paid for itself in just 2 years.
I do not need any auxiliary heat. The basement is the warmest room in the house in the winter.

To insulate or not, that is the question
