Recessed Lighting in Drop Ceiling
I am installing a drop ceiling with recessed lights. Question is do I install the lights first and then the ceiling or do I do the ceiling first and lights after? Does it matter?

Rough-in your electrical. Then install the ceiling grid. The recessed light sits right on the tile. Use the can that clips rather the then one with the new install brackets. Use a circle cutter to cut the tiles.
fwiw, I considered using cans in the drop ceiling in my utility room. Opted to go with a 2x4 flouresent light instead. The 2x4 light fixture gives better light coverage, uses less energy, and generates less heat. The light fixture also fits right into the grid. There is also a 2x2 model that could used.
