Gyro removal

I removed a factory stock Gyro from a 2006 Specialized BMX bike, the threadless seems loose. Do I need to add a spacer where the gyro was?

Is the top stem of the fork threadless ?? Before the gyro there was a nut that tightened down over the bearing then a washer with a keyway built onto it then a plain washer and finally a nut.
