Mountain bike fenders
So why dont mountain bikes have fenders.
I go out today on my new bike and its snow, ice and mud. No fenders and I get mud up to my face. My wonder is why dont people have fenders on bikes.
I like them because of rain, and mud.
I dont think that there would be all that much aero drag from them
Am I wrong??

Some bikes do
...and you can get them after-market too. For instance, go to www.Nashbar.com and search for "Fender" and you'll get a handful of results.
It's a matter of preference, rather than aerodynamics, and probably determined by your individual desire to keep weight to a minimum. Maybe people figure it's fun to get muddy! But wear your eye protection if you think so too.

The reason why they don't put fenders on MTB's is they would never hold up under any kind of thrashing and would just get it the way plus they look realy stupid.
Manufacturers don't want the risk of adding extra cost to the MRSP of the bike but they are available after-market.
Bicycle Joe.
