I have an older 10 speed that I'm taking apart
to paint. Guestion is I can't get the pedal
arms off. There was a nut on each side which
I have removed and no luck. I beleive the bike
is a Ross brand. Thanks for any help!!!

Christopher,
The crank arms on your bike are pressed on and you will need a puller to get them off. I recommend taking your bike to a bike shop and they will probably pull them off free of charge or they will sell you the puller. They don't cost much, around $10 I think. Good luck with the new paint job!

The tool is call a crank-arm puller. You will also need the right tools to remove and re-install the bottom bracket. Also - when you re-install the crank arms do not over tighten the crankarm bolts. The can sheer off.
