105 Crankset friction question

I am building up a 10 year old cross frame (Raleigh) with Shimano 105 & GRX components. The bottom bracket is BB30, so I installed an adapter to use a threaded Ultegra BB with 105 cranks. With no chain installed, the crankarms spin easily. However, there is some friction that causes the arms to slow down. They do not spin until the momentum stops. Is this a normal condition from bearing drag?

Thanks in advance,
Brad

I've seen a huge variation in bearing drag just on the lubrication used from bicycles to racing vehicles. For longer life a grease might be used, and more of it. But for a racing application some will wash the bearings to remove grease and then only give them a light oiling. It's a tradeoff between longevity and reducing drag.
