roller blind for car window

I have recently moved to Las Vegas from CT, and the sun is so fierce here, I need a sunshade pretty much all the time. I'm tired of hauling the thing out, unfolding it, and setting it up. I want to make one that will attach either to the dashboard near the defroster vents and pull up to hook onto the rear view mirror and flip down shades, or have it hang from the top and hook into the defroster vents somehow.

I was going to get in touch with Terrell, since I used her site extensively when I made shades for the house a few years ago, but apparently it's down now. Anybody out there have good ideas for what kind of hardware I need and where I can find it?

It helps, and I do leave the windows down a little, but the seat gets really hot. I made a steering wheel cover, which also helps, but I'd like to design something to easily block the inside from the sun. Eventually I'll figure it out.

The biggest problem with what you want to do is that the windshield is usually curved making it hard to install anything straight..... like an interior house type shade.

Tinted windshield is your best option. After market film can be applied. Some states will not allow it but most will allow a minimum amount f darkening.

Here is a solution that will really keep the interior cool. Car Covers, Car Shade, Car Sun Cover, SmartCover, Car Sun Shades

looks easy, but I wonder just how easy it is to attach.
