I bought through Amazon a vertical blind repair kit. I needed the comb gear. Fine. Got the blinds fixed and they work perfect. Problem solved.
However along with the 20 piece replacement parts are these plastics strips shown on the right. What are they for and how are they used?
Do those long thin pieces slip horizontally through the top of a broken vertical blind? Sometimes you have a vertical blind that gets stripped at the top and then there's no way to keep it up in the clip.
PJ, those are in fact the ones I bought.
XSplr...No they are not. At least I can't see how. They do in fact have mending strips that will repair the clip hole but these aren't it.
I thought for sure Shadielady might chime in since she has answered questions similar to this.
I didn't know what they were so I did a search. Of course Johnam is right. Looks like they're just used in some vertical blinds, so maybe that's why you don't see any.
My cordless shade is broken. There are two separate shades mounted on one mount, each shade a little over 3 feet wide and 8 feet long, for a sliding door. One shade looks puckered on the top/left side, makes a clicking noise when raised or lowered, and won't go all the way up. I've done the "gently pull the shade all the way down, gently pull on one side then the other, raise the shade back up" trick, but that does nothing.
The only markings are Gloria 2T 19963.....Cellular Shade C#: 82CPCS0212.04
FCH EV 02/12/15 CLASS R.
Is this a DIY project?
I took it down to look at the inner workings, but nothing looked obviously wrong, not that I would really know what to look for.
Any suggestions.
What technique or method would be the best to join the string on faux blinds to extend it ?I already have the extra . Is there a crimp used or maybe a way to sew them together ? I can knot it but would rather not .The squarestring parts that hold the blinds in is also where I will attatch but I can use small wire an maybe some epoxy at 2 corners at those squares since they only turn an dont go thru any holes ...
{these are some big 40 inch by 55 an $150 to replace both so I'd rather extend them 5 inches for a few bucks since I have extra off other blinds.]
i might find something at a hobby store too but wanted some ideas .
thanks .
