Window or no window?
#1

We just bought an older home and we're completely remodeling the kitchen. The kitchen sink is facing North. Above the kitchen sink is this "window." The opening is 3' x 3'. (What use to be the window looking into the back yard) Off the kitchen is the new family room addition. I am not sure what to do with with opening. If we closed it off, you'd be standing at the kitchen sink facing a wall. Moving the sink would involve too much. Any ideas? Would appreciate as many suggestions as possible. Thanks!

I would leave the opening, and maybe even enlarge it. That way you can look into the familyroom and converse with friends and family while tending to dinner, or doing dishes. You could always put up little shutters to close it off if you wanted to hide the kitchen mess.
