Keeping drapes together at top

We always used traverse rods before with our drapes but we just bought new drapes with tabs at the top that slip over round rods.

After mounting the new rods and hanging the drapes, we're having a problem keeping the drapes together at the top when we tie them back on each side. We like to use the tie-backs instead of sliding them back on the rods.

Does anyone have a good technique for holding them together at the top? Thanks......Jay

Keeping drapes together

Stitch or pen them together or loosen the tie backs and/or pull a little more material up out of the tie back to create a little more draping effect.
