Really? You put a wire with current running through it in your mouth?

Doesn't hurt mine anymore. I've got the best choppers money can buy, and I insisted they replicate my wire-stripping notch when they made them.

Don't you know the best way to tell 240 from 120 when you don't have your meter handy?

It's not so much the 40-60V loop current, it's the 90V AC ring current that will wake you up. Ask me how I know.

Now I can't say what they do today, but back in the 70's when I worked for ma bell, we were told they added a rat poison to the covering to reduce the rodent damage. Makes sense! Sure slowed down the guys that abused their teeth.

When I was a seventeen year old new hire for a tech services company, one of the employees showed me how to work in a building phone room. He started licking his thumb and touching pairs to see if they were active and talked about how that worked. Worked great until he hit a T1... *grin*
