Hi; Just had a bolier (Weil-Mcclan) Boiler put in through my oil provider. During the installation the installers put a water pipe union right over a non-watertight electrical junction box. Isn't that a little improper as well as a line that runs RIGHT underneath a valve which if needing replacement would require TWO lines to be cut? When I pointed it out he acknowledged and just shrugged and continued on. Also when they married up to my standing hot water tank system they misjudged every line. Where they were off they forcibly angled my present pipes to theirs which resulted in solder joints that are cantered and not aligned in a straight line. One line has a 1 1/2 inch forced drop in it over 18 inches. Another line does not go straight up but leans to the side. I am weary of leaks in the future as the standing lines are forced and one union has already leaked. They also did a rub Goldberg affair in connecting to my expansion tank. Instead of three right angles and straight runs they made a longer run with all sorts of street angles in it. It also sticks out like a sore thumb across the ceiling. My old line went straight along the heating pipes to the tank and boiler. It appears that they cut and soldered as they went along and did not dry fit everything first and just worked from what they did. Am I wrong in complaining to the company and having someone come and fix this, or pay me, to do it properly?

I have a normal sized 3 bed semi with a gas boiler, cold water tank and hot cylinder. The shower has low pressure with little room in the cupboard to install a pump. Plumber has recommended a combi. Cost not a real issue as a freebie - the house is let and tenants have expressed a wish for better showers. What are the advans and disavans of a combi?
