Thumbs up midway valve.

i need to change the midway valve on the central heating.i have turned the heating off now but when the hot water comes on the radiators still heat up.can you tell me what to do.

That would be the flow check. You will need to drain the whole system to that point to replace it. You could try tapping on it gently with a hammer. All you may need to do is rattle the slug inside enough to get it to seat again. You may not have trouble after that. It is worth a try.
