Talking How to prime an oil tank

Hi. The oil in my house ran out for a week or two. We just got some more oil, but nobody in my house knows how to prime the tank. can someone please guide me through this in a few step? Thanks. I really appreciate it.

Well where is the tank in the home or in the ground? Do you have two lines going from the oil burner to the tank or just one?
Look on the side of the oil pump on the burner. You will see a small pipe plug some have a hole in it that a small hose can slip onto. You need a can to catch the oil in under this plug. Now back the plug out some and hit the reset on the burner air like should come out there by the plug let it run till a good stream of oil is there then tighten the plug and the burner should start. If the burner goes off on safety you will have to hit the reset again. If you let it run dry you should put a new filter and nozzle in .
