water pump problem

I have an oil/hot water furnace. Last night the water pump/motor started making a screeching noise. When I went to check, I noticed that there was water laeking from the water pipes. I oiled the motor, thinking this might solve the problem. The noise stopped briefly but then started again. What is the problem? What can I do?

Its a B&G more than likely and the bearing assembly is probably no good. Sometimes its easier and cheaper to replace the whole thing with a Taco 007 pump.

Thanks Al. Is that easy to do or should I get a plumber to do it?

Any heating contractor should be able to do it in less than an hour. If no repiping involved the cost shouldn't be to bad.
