Hydronic heating and furniture

We just purchased a home in Colorado and it has Hydronic heating. Can you safely put furniture in front of the baseboard heaters? Thanks

The baseboard heaters are completely safe. The worst thing that I have ever see happen was a crayon melted inside one. The heat will not harm your furniture or drapes. The heat can not start paper or cloth on fire if it gets inside. The heat will not ignite vapors from any solvents. If you completely block the heater and prevent airflow, you will not get much heat out of it. If carpeting blocks the opening at the bottom, it will affect airflow and heat output but nothing worse than a cold room will result.
