Heating/Water Timer won't switch off heating

We have a honeywell timer that is from the dark ages, and although it appears to be working, the heating and hot water never turns off... The light that comes on when the heating is timed to be on still comes on / turns off, but unless I turn down the thermostat, I have a very hot house 24/7. Is this a big job?? I'm not technically minded, but its a back boiler behind a gas fire that I have.

Thanks in advance

Hot house

It sounds like you have a zone valve of flow check sticking open but without a lot more information it would be tough to troubleshoot online. You might be better off to call a local service person to have a look.
