how to insulate steam pipes - please help

Actually, I know how to insulate the steam pipes. I am using a fiberglass product. My question is this - How do I insulate the T's and 45 and 90 degree angle pipes. Can't do it with the fiberglass; it's too stiff. ANy suggestions?

Insulating steam pipes

You can mitre cut the fiberglass. For a 90º ell, opposing 45's will give you a nice 90. For a 45, opposing 22.5º cuts do the job. Tee's are a little harder. You have to cut out a hole for the branch. They make metal & plastic fittings to cover the joints. The covers can be riveted together with split rivets. Professionals seal the joints in the fiberglass with a special compound. For a DIY job, foil tape works just fine.
