Lighting boiler pilot

Can you tell me how
To Light a gas boiler pilot?

I'll try

Make sure the main gas valve is on. Turn the knob on the boiler gas valve to pilot. A BBQ lighter works well for lighting the pilot. Depress the gas valve knob & hold it down while holding the BBQ lighter flame at the hood on the pilot burner. After the pilot lights, continue to hold the knob down for 30-45 seconds. Release the knob & the pilot should stay lit. If it does not, you will likely need to replace the thermocouple. Once the pilot is staying lit, turn the knob to "on". Make sure the switch for the boiler is on & you should be ready to go.
