no water in boiler valve pilot light out

Help!!! Just noticed the boiler (Weil Mclain) pilot light is out and then went to the gauge on the side to check water level and saw it was totally empty! I know there is a switch on the staircase called emergency boiler switch...should i switch that and then try to fill the guage 3/4 full and then how light the pilot light? If yes how do I light the pilot light.

Depending on the controls, when you turn the switch on, the boiler may be fed automaticly. To light the pilot: Turn the knob on the gas valve off & leave it off for about five minutes. Turn it to "pilot", (a BBQ type lighter usually works well for lighting the pilot). Light the lighter & hold it at the pilot burner. Depress the knob on the gas valve. When the pilot lights, continue to hold the knob down for 30-60 seconds. Release the knob & the pilot should stay lit. If it does not, you will likely have to replace the thermocouple. Once the pilot is stable, turn the knob to "on".
