boiler died

We have a hot water heating system. Last night I noticed a big puddle under the boiler, called my oil company, they came and said that the boiler was gone. The serviceman also said that in the meantime, until we get a new one, we still should have hot water and heat, that the leak will somehow seal itself. Well, we've had no heat or hot water. Can something be done in the meantime so that we don't freeze until the new boiler is installed, which will take some time? Thanks.

Boiler died

Sometimes, some stuff called boiler seal or boiler liquid will stop a leak short term. If your boiler stays hot all the time you stand a better chance of it working. Call your oil company back & ask about it.
