worcester bosch hf 400 safety temp limiter needs resetting

When the boiler is oopearting central heating only all is ok, however when hot water is demanded for shower or bath etc, the safety temp limiter trips out. Enginer has checked the gas pressure but we still have the problem. Gas injector has also been cleaned. Any ideas what the problem might be?

Not to sure about the model you have but i have had one in the past that when you put hot water on it would heat up ok to start with but after a few minutes it would trip the high limit stat that ended up being the calorifier. Because it was partialy blocked you couldnt get the heat transfer so it over heated. It could also be a thermister fault or if the boiler has 2 pumps it could be one of them.

Sorry no ,i should have explained. This is what heats up your hot water, it uses the system water to warm plates that then warm your hot water. If the system water is full of sludge it can cause the boiler to over heat. because these plates are so close to one another it dosent take much sludge to block them up.
