Need help on my gas boiler doesnt work??

I have gas boiler made by slant/fin & the gas pilot light wont stay on, I disconnect the thermo coupler & test it w/my ohmmeter for continuity by heating up the tip of the rod w/a lighted candle, the needle of the meter start to move during the test.

Is this means that the thermo coupler is fine? so why the pilot light wont stay on after pressing the button for at least one minute? what could be wrong? any suggestion is greatly appreciated.... thx in advance Danny

btw ,the model # of the gas boiler is GG-100 HP by slant/fin & the gas valve is VR8300A 3104

Replace the thermocouple. You cannot test a thermocouple by reading resistance.

Thermocouple

KField is right about testing resistance. Thermocouples are cheap & readilly available. If you can't find one the right length, get a longer one & coil the excess. Be careful not to kink the tube.
