replacing Honeywell zone valve

Hi Guys !
I will try to make a very long story short ... I have determined that one of my honeywell 9218 zone valves is bad. Valve first stuck open, tapped it and it closed. Now stuck closed. So I either open manual and allow it to run constantly or allow it to stay closed and freeze. Problem is not the motor, but the valve. Need step by step how to replace. I know you have certainly covered this but I cannot seem to find the "seach" function on the site. Can you help?

The search feature is in the blue banner above with white letters.

You say it is not the motor but I believe it is. How do you know it is not the motor? The only way to know is to remove the motor & operate the valve by hand. If it sticks, the problem is the valve. If it does not stick, look at the toothed lever against which the motor gear rides. If teeth are damaged power head replacement is in order. Otherwise, the motor would seem to be the problem & it is a fairly common problem.
