Oil burner vs Gas boiler flames temps.

can anyone explain the difference in flame temperature between a oil and gas boiler. I always thought a oil burner produced a hotter flame, making it a more efficient fuel for heating.
Thanks

You are trying to compare apples to oranges. They are both food but the similarities are few. GAs to oil, they are both fuel but similarities stop there. In my opinion, oil is the best choice. But not because of a hotter flame. What you need to use for comparison is whether natural gas is available in your area and the prices of gas and oil per btu. There are many other considerations, but the choice starts at the price.
