Boiler problem

Hi

I've just moved into a new house and have an issue with the heating system (water boiler). The boiler has a switch for 3 settings: 1 - to heat up the water for washing etc, 2 - to heat the house via the radiators or 3 - to heat the water and radiators. The trouble is that if I chose the switch setting for heating only the water for washing, it heats the radiators as well. This is bad as when we need to go in the bath or wash up the whole house heats up and its summer!

Any help appreciated!

Switch?

I have never seen nor heard of such a switch. Can you host some pictures of the boiler, nearby piping, & this switch?

Is this a forced hot-water system or a steam system? Pictures and in-depth descriptions will help.
