Routine Maintenance

Since you admit you know nothing about your boiler, I strongly suggest you have a pro do it the first time. Most will be glad to let you watch & ask questions. He/she could also tell you if the thermostat is 120 volts, 24 volts, or millivolts. Ask him/her to explain to you how the system works. Again, most are more than glad to do so because when something does break down you will be better able to explain to a service person what the system is doing or not doing & be able to check the simple things yourself. We hate to come out in the middle of the night to turn on a switch someone has inadvertantly turned off.

Odd name indeed

I'd love to see some pics if you don't mind. With them I might be able to give you some basics.
